Today I am sharing natural hair growth errors you are making and the answer to fixing them.

Look:

Most people think growing hair is all about getting it right, but they never think about the things they are getting wrong.

Why is that?

Because sometimes we fail to use our critical thinking skills.

You could be doing everything you think that is right to grow your natural hair but do you ever stop and think about the things you are doing wrong and the steps you can take to drastically improve them?

If the answer is no, then you need to keep reading.

As a licensed cosmetologist, there are a ton of natural hair growth errors I see every day, and I am going to share the most common ones with you.

SO, WHAT IS A NATURAL HAIR GROWTH ERROR?

According to dictionary.com, error is defined as a deviation from accuracy or correctness; a mistake, as in action or speech.

When it comes to natural hair growth, an error is anything you are doing that is not the right way of doing it, it is a deviation from correctness, a mistake.

Most will say there is no right or wrong way of doing anything as long as you do it.

You better think again about that statement especially when it comes to your natural hair growth.

THE FIRST NATURAL HAIR GROWTH ERRORS I SEE

Not cutting off split ends. Yes, you have to remove split ends. A split end is damaged hair which results in the hair splitting.

Do you want to carry around baggage?

I think the answer to that question is no because we all know that baggage weighs us down. Similar to when you have to carry your bags around in the airport you feel weighed down.

It is the same with hair, keeping the baggage on the ends (split ends) will weigh the rest of the hair down.

And, I know you do not want that.  I am always happy to get rid of my split ends because I know I do not need them.

I cannot stress this enough, get rid of your split ends.

THE SECOND ERROR

You are not shampooing your hair regularly.

There is a big myth in the African-American community that you should only shampoo your hair when it is extremely dirty.

Well my friend that is a lie.

Any professional who has been to beauty school will tell you of the importance of shampooing your hair.

That is why hair professionals make most of their tips from the shampoo job alone.

And why some salons have a dedicated shampoo person.

What’s the best part of giving yourself a regular shampoo job you might ask?

The scalp message which brings me to my next point of the common hair mistakes people make.

You see the less you shampoo your hair the less opportunity you have to massage your scalp and stimulate blood flow.

You see, stimulation = natural hair growth.

NOW TIME FOR THE THIRD AND FINAL ERROR

The more time you spend searching multiple sources on the internet, the more time you will waste.

Because you will get advice from so many different sources that you will end up questioning why you even went on a hunt in the first place.

Then after gathering the advice from the multiple sources which can take up you most of your time, sure you can come up with a plan but who is it validated by?

So, the plan you end up with is not balanced.

Today you try a protein treatment and do not follow through after.  You just go about your business and put your hair in a ponytail.

Wait a minute there!

There are other steps you must take right after a protein treatment to restore the hair. Do you know what they are?

The information you gather from the multiple sources will waste your time and not give you a set plan of action, a calendar, what to do today, tomorrow or for the entire month when it comes to your natural hair growth because after all you are gathering bits and pieces of information from everywhere.

So, what is the answer you need?
