When I started to learn about makeup a few years ago, I had no idea that the real techniques starter set existed.

I really wish I did though because that means I would not have spent so much money on lesser-quality brushes year after year.

Prior to adding the real techniques brush set to my makeup collection, I had purchased at least 2-4 other sets.

In addition to the other sets, I purchased other brushes here and there.

That’s a lot of money spent my friend.

Recently I decided to clean up my makeup collection, and for me that means getting rid of the old and bringing in the new.

Do you do that too?

I do this in other areas of my life, like my wardrobe.

Every time I go shopping for clothes, I always purge some pieces from my closet.

I make my judgement call based on one question, have I worn it in the last year?

If the answer is no, it goes in the donation pile.

A History of My Makeup Collection

I bought my first makeup brush sets from Amazon and BH Cosmetics in 2014.

Then, in 2016 I got a set from Ulta.

Plus, as mentioned above, I also purchased single brushes here and there.

This year, I decided that it was time to invest in a new brand of brushes because I wanted to upgrade my makeup looks for my Youtube natural hair updo tutorials.

And you know what they say, it’s not the makeup product you use, it’s the brushes you use for the application.

So, that is what really justified my decision to spend more money, and I am so glad I did.

I wanted a variety of brushes since I purged a lot of my old ones.

So instead of ordering one brush here and there, I decided to go with a set so I could get more for my bang.

The Real Techniques Starter Set Makeup Brushes

I am six months in now with using my real techniques starter set, and I definitely regret not making this purchase years ago.

The bristles on the brushes are soft, the application is seamless and the finish is smooth.

I have washed the brushes many times, and they are extremely easy to wash and care for.

The real techniques starter set comes with multiple options for the eyes and face.

This is the set you need if you want to get good quality brushes at affordable pricing.

The set is color-coded and each brush has the name and purpose clearly marked on it.

Also, the starter set is diverse and suitable to be used with a range of makeup products such as powders, eyeshadows, and shimmers.
