3) Sulfate-free deep conditioning

4) Clay rinse

5) Leave-in condoning

6) Hair gel

PRE-STEP FOR MAXIMUM HYDRATION METHOD

If you are a beginner in doing the max hydration method, it is advisable to complete the Cherry Lola Caramel’s treatment the first time you are doing this method.

This is a pre-step to the maximum hydration method and it will give your hair the boost it needs to absorb more moisture.

However, it is optional and can be skipped.

If this is not your first time, skip to step 2.

You will only need to do the Chery Lola only the first time you are trying out this treatment.

I’d recommend no more than 3-4 times per year as this is an intense protein treatment.

See the product list below for low porosity hair.

If you have high porosity, simply scale back on the ingredients.

You will mix the following ingredients and apply the mixture to your hair making sure every strand is fully coated.

Follow with a plastic cap to cover your hair and let the mixture sit in your hair for 1-2 hours.

After rinse your hair with room temperature water.

Do not use warm or hot water as this will fry the eggs on your hair.

STEP 1: HAIR CLARIFICATION

For the hair clarification step.

Make sure that your hair strands are clean and fresh before commencing.

Clarify the strands using apple cider vinegar rinse by mixing it with water in the ratio of 1:1. Put the mixture into an applicator bottle to ease the process.

Pour some amount of the mixture to your scalp and massage it gently to lift the dirt.

After that, pour the rest of the mixture to your hair and rinse it thoroughly.

STEP 2: DEEP CONDITIONING

Split your hair into small sections and apply a sulfate-free conditioner to every part while detangling the hair strands gently.

It is advisable to use a wide-toothed comb or your fingers to do the detangling process.

Wear a plastic cap and let the conditioner to sit in the hair for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it.

The deep conditioning mask helps to allow the nutrients to penetrate through the hair shaft and repair hair breakage or heat damage.

STEP 3: CLAY RINSING

Prepare a concoction of clay rinse by mixing 1 cup of bentonite clay with one tablespoon of honey, one tablespoon of olive oil, and 1-3 cups of warm water until and even consistency is reached.

Apply the mixture to your hair sections, wait for 15-20 minutes, and rinse your hair gently because the clay is usually hard.

Clay cleanses the scalp, hair, and clamps the strands together.

STEPS 4 & 5: HAIR CONDITIONING AND GELLING

Divide your hair into small sections while it is still wet.

Apply a leave-in conditioner to each section from the roots to the ends, while massaging it through the strands gently using your fingers.

Finish by applying a generous amount of gel to the hair sections and rake it through the strands with your fingers to ensure even distribution.

A gel is good at sealing in the hydration and, most importantly, holding your defined curly pattern.
