When it comes to natural hair growth success, there are some must followed rules, right?

One of those rules is to use a silk like product at night to protect your hair.

But can I challenge you to start protecting your natural hair not only at night but also during the day, and looking stylish while doing it in an African head wrap?

You see, the only way to really combat stagnant hair growth is through protection.

Protection is defined as a defense, shielding, safe keeping, security. To prevent someone or something from suffering harm or injury.

WHY PROTECTIVE STYLE THROUGH AN AFRICAN PRINT HEAD WRAP?

Yes, protective styling with your natural hair or extensions is a great option.

I mean that is why I share so many tutorials on this topic.

But imagine for a moment if you could give your hair a break from the constant manipulation and product build up that comes with protective styling. Would you do it?

Of course, you would.

This means, it would take very little effort to braid up your hair for 1-2 weeks using your favorite hair moisturizer and oil.

And, you would not have to worry about paying hundreds of dollars for a wig install, and keeping it intact all week long.

I think you get my drift.

Now, let’s say you’ve had a busy week at school, work, with the family and you failed to plan for your hair?

And all of the sudden you stumble on a “bad hair day.”

I am too familiar with those.

There are days when I don’t even want to look at my hair, especially when I am following my rigorous exercise plan.

I usually get my workout in Sunday-Tuesday, so I plan to shampoo my hair after 3-4 days.

You can bet I am having a bad hair day about 3 plus days out of the week, and that’s when an African head wrap comes in handy.

HOW TO PROPERLY STYLE AN AFRICAN HEAD WRAP?

I have a collection of African turban style head wraps in my closet.

However, Cee Cee’s Closet New York has an amazing assortment of silk lined head wraps with 100% poly silk blend.

These were hand-made for the sole purpose of protecting our hair.

This means your hair will get the FULL protection it needs to grow underneath.

The benefits of silk with added durability of polyester.

This is golden.

You know what this also means?

You don’t have to sleep on a silk pillow at night, just wrap your head in a stylish African print head wrap and enjoy your night.

The next day simply remove your head wrap and re-style it in a creative way to hit the streets, here are some easy-to-follow tutorials.

I love styling African head wraps because I can get pretty creative when it comes to hairstyling.

The easiest way to think of it, is to see the printed fabric as a piece of hair which you are maneuvering.

Similar to styling natural hair updos, hair ties, bobby/hair pins are allowed, even hair accessories too.

I try not to overthink it, the beauty in head wrapping is pretty much anything goes.

It doesn’t have to be perfect.

5 WAYS TO NOT OVERTHINK ABOUT TYING YOUR NEXT HEAD WRAP

1. At night for bed, keep it simple and use it as a standard silk lined head wrap.

2. Wake up the next day and style it in a low or high bun to make a fashion statement at work or school.

3. If you have longer natural hair, braids or dreadlocks, you can do a Bob Marley style to keep your hair out of your face while you exercise.

4. For special occasions like weddings, galas, you can style your head wrap in a bowtie to match the event theme and your beautiful dress.

5. And if you have absolutely nowhere to go, but you just want to be extra, you can try this look.
